On the 17th of March was held International Tournament of Grand-Prix series of Wrestling on Belts Alysh among men and women in Sport Palace in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
This tournament was organized in memory of a public figure – Baiaman Erkinbaev. Such sport event took place in our capital two years in a row and has been a striking example of unity among plenty of countries where Alysh is practiced.
Representatives of all Kyrgyzstan’s regions and guests from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Pakistan, Moldova, Iran, Russia and the Netherlands took part.
Certainly, it is important to mention that this Grand-Prix was held under the aegis of UWW (United World Wrestling) and that is why the referees applied the international unified rules, which were adopted after long discussions.
Besides, this tournament was a platform for conducting the athletes’ selection for forthcoming Asian Indoor Games in Ashkhabad (Turkmenistan) and Alysh World Championship as a part of Nomads’ Games in Issik-kul (Kyrgyzstan) in September this year.
Athletes, who took prizes in weight categories: men (up to 60 kg, up to 70 kg, up to 80 kg, up to 90 kg, up to 100 kg, and +100 kg), and women (up to 55 kg, up to 60 kg, up to 70 kg, up to 75 kg, and up to +75 kg) were rewarded with diplomas, medals and valuable prizes.
The tournament was held under control of the Department of National Sport Games and Kyrgyz National Federation of Belt Wrestling Alysh with the support of Government Agency on youth policy, physical education and sport.
